Cannabis And Blood Pressure Research Proposal

A relatively modest amount of financial support through contributions or grants would be needed to continue and refine my research into the use of medical marijuana to control high blood pressure. I believe that a more scientifically rigorous experiment performed under tightly controlled conditions would produce results that would be both medically and politically useful.

The following URL describes my experiences so far in using a vaporizer to selectively fraction cannibinoids, and thereby identify the cannibinoid(s) that have effectively regulated my blood pressure for over 40 years.

I project a running cost of $3000/month, with a minimum duration of 6 months ($18,000). It should be clear after the first 6 months whether it would be useful to extend the experiment for up to another 6 months.

I do have an additional motive in seeking funding for this research project.

My medical conditions are sensitive to stress, and so controlling stress becomes a significant concern in generating scientifically valid data. The actual level of stress is relatively unimportant as long as it is stable and consistent during the experiment period. The ideal test environment would involve a work activity that would require a stable level of intellectual and physical effort over the extended period of the blood pressure research. The constraints and requirements of the blood pressure experiment would make conventional employment impossible.

I've been operating a software development and support business out of my home office for a dozen years. While my home office provides a consistent relatively stress free environment, software projects tend to be shorter in duration than needed, as well as causing inconsistent levels of stress as they transition through development phases.

I've been strongly encouraged by those who have read my other books, to expand my articles into a book length account of my experiences dealing with my unusual biochemistry. A particular focus would be the effects of various drugs and intrusive government policies on my ability to think, and the unexpected twists and turns my life has taken as a result. Interwoven through the entertaining narrative would be my personal experiences of the beneficial effects of medical marijuana contrasted with the adverse effects of marijuana prohibition.

While the results of the blood pressure research would be published/publicly available separately, the progress and results of the blood pressure experiments would also provide a context and the end of the narrative time-line in the book.

On a functional level, writing the book would provide a useful stable/consistent "test load" during the blood pressure experiments. At the same time it would allow me to accomplish a personally fulfilling and rewarding project, as well as hopefully make a significant contribution to ending the tragic crime against humanity of drug prohibition.
