Clinton vs Democracy

Any citizen with even the slightest affection for his liberty and freedom should be alarmed. On 12/30/96, President Clinton declared himself to be the ultimate power in the land - superior even to the electorate. Perhaps even more disturbing than the proclamation itself is the total lack of understanding by the mainstream newsmedia of this critically significant change in American politics.

One of the most important principles of our system of government has always been that the will of the electorate as expressed in the ballot box was the ultimate law of the land. Although concealed in the politically correct fraud of protecting citizens from themselves, the announcement by Clinton regarding the medical hemp initiatives passed in California and Arizona reveals the true extent of the arrogant contempt the Clinton administration has for the rights of the citizens and the most basic principles on which our nation was founded.

Filtering out the double-talk and deceptions, the hard underlying reality of Clinton's proclamation is the declaration that the arbitrary and capricious will of his administration is superior to the direct democracy of lawful initiatives passed by clear majorities of the electorate. Can there be a more direct and dangerous attack on the remnants of our democracy? Clinton has further publicly declared that he will use the full coercive power of the federal agencies under his control to enforce his policies regardless of the consequences or the will of the people. Is this not the definition of dictatorship?

Casting aside any pretense of respect for the right of the individual or the States to exercise those rights not specifically granted to the federal government in the constitution, Clinton is attempting to elevate his Imperial Presidency to the status of highest authority in the land. When faced with opposition to its arbitrary edicts, the Imperial Presidency believes it can now just declare its power superior to any challenge, making any attempt to restrict that power by the electorate null and void.

Clinton has also sought to declare his politically motivated manipulations superior to exhaustively researched reality. Hemp/Cannabis was one of the very first domesticated crops and has been one of mankind's most valuable agricultural products since the dawning of civilization. The use of hemp for medicinal purposes has long been proven to everyone except those who seek personal profit and power from denying succor and comfort to the sick and dying. The empty deceit of claiming that no medicinal benefit has ever been proven is so blatant a lie that only a truly complicitous and controlled media has allowed the willful deception to continue.

Even if you ignore all the studies and the huge mass of personal testimonial evidence from patients convinced beyond any shadow of a doubt as to the medicinal and quality of life benefits of hemp, there are still the doctors. In our medical system the doctor on the scene is supposed to be the expert. The medicinal hemp initiatives had strong support from doctors - especially those treating the critically and/or terminally ill. Clinton has now declared that any doctor who follows his own experience, conscience, and Hippocratic oath to provide the best care he knows how, will be persecuted as a Federal criminal.

The iron fist of the Clinton presidency will fall heavily on any doctor who puts his patient's well-being above his respect for Clinton's omnipotent authority. Concealing its brutal violence behind the increasingly shabby cloak of "protecting the public", the government will punish any doctor suffering from excess personal integrity by destroying everything the offending doctor has worked so long to create.

For the crime of doing good, Clinton will strip the offending doctor of his laurels and cast him in chains into the dungeons - where he'll suffer longer for his crimes of compassion than if he'd cold bloodedly murdered his patients with his own hands. On the other hand, if the doctor abandons his principles and agrees to torture and kill his patients using officially sanctioned means created solely to profit those rich and powerful favored by the privileged elite, he will be lauded as a hero and richly rewarded.

In the Clinton Reich, medical reality must yield before the omnipotence of federal edicts. In the strident dogma of our self proclaimed Federal masters, critically ill patients should be proud to suffer endless pain and even death solely because it suits the purposes of an uncaring bureaucracy intent on tightening its strangle hold on the gasping throat of the nation.

Just like the "drug war" has nothing to do with drugs and everything to do with power and control, the Clinton suppression of the California and Arizona medical hemp initiatives has nothing to do with public safety and everything to do with the arrogance of an out of control Federal government. The Imperial Presidency has thrown down the gauntlet, demanding that the citizenry decide whether they will stand for truth and freedom, or meekly abandon their rights and self respect to the threat of Federal violence.

Is it any wonder that the Imperial Storm Troupers have been practicing mass murder and urban warfare against innocent civilian targets with increasing frequency and violence? Is it any wonder that the legions of black ski-masked body armored government shock troops preparing to end freedom in America are so desperate to disarm their intended victims before we realize just who means us harm?

How far will the intentionally deceived common man allow himself to be pushed before he starts to see through the veil of lies and realizes what's really been happening? Will he have enough pride and self respect left to act in his own defense, or will the beaten dog just give up his freedom and let civilization collapse like the ancient Romans'.

Just as in ancient Rome, the cost of supplying enough bread and circuses to keep the masses distracted is rapidly bankrupting the nation. What will happen when the money runs out and people can't help but see what's been done to their once great nation? Will there be any greatness left in America? The barbarians are already among us, just waiting for the opportunity to tear down what's left. All we have to do is convince ourselves we really can see the robes of power the emperor tells us he's wearing.
