I recently discovered that I was already a participant in yet another real-time experiment in applied neurochemistry. Adding unnecessary excitement to the experimental environment was the potential lethality of this new unexpected complication. Taking an active personal interest in the recounted events was admittedly somewhat obligatory for me at the time, and remains something more than idle curiosity.
A relatively modest amount of financial support through contributions or grants would be needed to continue and refine my research into the use of medical marijuana to control high blood pressure. I believe that a more scientifically rigorous experiment performed under tightly controlled conditions would produce results that would be both medically and politically useful.
The following URL describes my experiences so far in using a vaporizer to selectively fraction cannibinoids, and thereby identify the cannibinoid(s) that have effectively regulated my blood pressure for over 40 years.
Finding the source of creativity has long been an obsession of scientists and philosophers. An orderly and predictable structure is suggested by the brain's role as monitor and manager of our bodies. But the efforts of human consciousness to study itself have been frustrated by the multiple layers our brains have accumulated over our long evolution from primitive early ancestors.
I was asked by a high school programming teacher how his students could learn to apply what they'd learned about programming to practical applications. At the core of the teacher's question is the age old conundrum that it is far easier to teach skill with tools than to teach creativity with tools. Nearly anyone can be taught how to use a paint brush, but very few of them can use that brush to create a masterpiece.
Therapeutic uses of Medical Marijuana in the treatment of Attention Deficit Disorder
---------------------------------
Note: The following research was part of a petition filed in 1999 to add Attention Deficit Disorder to the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act. The Oregon Health Division continues to refuse to add mental conditions such as ADD to the list of OMMA "covered conditions". The Health Division claims that medical marjuana isn't effective for mental conditions even though the primary justification for marijuana prohibition is its alleged psycho-active effectiveness.
Much of the body of philosophical thought down through the ages has been an account of thinking men attempting to define the relationship between their thoughts and the world around them. They question the nature of reality and whether absolute truth can even exist. Since philosophy is largely the effort to explain the world, and because words perform such a critical role in creating those explanations, philosophers often confuse the role of language in the process of perception and awareness.
It's become a distressingly common event on the evening news. First a short segment describes yet another violent crime followed by interviews with friends, relatives, and neighbors of the perpetrator all saying they can't understand why the criminal did what he did, or expressing disbelief that such a nice guy could do such a thing. And yet offenses against individuals and even society itself continue to occur. And the phenomenon isn't limited to individuals.
Heat dissipation is a critical engineering constraint in all computing devices - both in solid state electronic "hardware" and organic "wet-ware" like the human brain. Computers and brains have only been able to increase in complexity and capability by concurrently evolving ever more sophisticated cooling systems.
One of the major problems with ADD is not the actual effects of the disorder but rather the misinformation and interference self proclaimed experts attempt to inflict on those with the condition. Only a couple of years ago the official - and aggressively held - position of the medical profession was that adult ADD didn't exist. Many "experts" continue to deny that ADD exists at all.
