Kort Explores conundrums of the human condition

Terrible crimes are being committed against the citizens of America. While the overt evil of fanatical terrorists has dominated the mass media, there is an even more malignant evil abroad in the world - an evil that has caused far greater harm to our economy and society than the terrorist violence it exploits. While the public's attention has been distracted by sensationalized terrorist violence inflicted on individual citizens, this greater evil has been using our irrational fears to destroy the essence of who we are both as a nation and as free individuals.

We stand on the brink of Armageddon. Western civilization will not survive the kind of war that both our enemies, and those who claim to be our defenders, are currently preparing to fight.

Our free secular society is under increasingly violent attack by terrorists attempting to cloak their crimes behind a banner of religious beliefs, but whose actions are ultimately in the service of intrusive statism and the incremental destruction of freedom in America.

Violence in the middle east continues. Once again, while mouthing the empty facade of desiring peace, the PLO has demonstrated its support for those committing terrorism, and refused to take any meaningful actions to stop the violence that has proved so advantageous to the PLO in the past. The world is quick to demonize Israel for any imagined slight of those seeking its violent destruction, but where is the meaningful condemnation of the Arab terrorists?

Politics and terrorism are both functions of human nature. New technologies may increase the capabilities of individuals, but basic human nature remains the same. The fact that bombs targeting Americans have become more common recently has nothing to do with the development and availability of bomb technology, and everything to do with human nature and the abandonment of the basic principles on which our civilization was founded.

In spite of the critical role effective personal self defense has played in the suppression of violence, the popular media works very hard at portraying the tools of effective self defense as being primarily useful to the criminal. Every occurrence of an unarmed citizen being attacked by an armed criminal is splashed across the front page.
